SFYR May 2010 Happy Hour with Special Guest Speaker John Yoo
SFYR was honored to have John Yoo, former Bush administration official, law professor and author, speak to our members. In order to facilitate our larger than normal crowd, we held the May Happy Hour at APT 24, by the Financial District. Mr. Yoo, also known as the only man to make Jon Stewart his bitch, spoke about his book, which analyzed the growing scope of the power of the presidency. Mr. Yoo then took questions and signed copies of his book.
SFYR Giants Game
SFYR made its annual trip to the bleacher seats! We gathered before hand at Peet’s Bar for some beers and SFYR member only BBQ ribs. Then we headed on over to the ball park to watch the Giants beat the Astros. No homeruns came our way, but we had a good time anyway.
CD-8 Republican Primary Debate and After Party
SFYR was one of the co-sponsors of the Congressional debate between John Dennis and Dana Walsh. Held at the Hiriam Johnson State building, the two candidates spent over an hour debating foreign policy and domestic (mainly healthcare) issues. The debate in its entirety can be found in the Media section of our website. SFYR hosted the after party at East Side West. After the debate, SFYR opened our online polls and let our members vote on the SFYR endorsement in the race.
