Forget about the Income Tax you just paid for a little while! It’s SFYR Third Tuesday at Azul!
Two special guests this month. David Kralik, Director of Internet Strategy at American Solutions and Judge Thomas Mellon, who is being challenged by Geraldo “I don’t think we (the USA) should have a military” Sandoval.
That comment comes at 3:35 in the video.
Third Tuesday begins at 7 PM! Don’t forget to get there early to take advantage of Azul’s Happy Hour!
Jim Beall (d-San Jose), having previously authored a bill to raise taxes on the sale of alcopop and malt beverages, now wants to raise the tax on beer from the current 2 cents a can to 30 cents a can. That may not sound like much at first, but let’s see how much it would cost in the other forms that beer is sold in.
A six-pack of beer goes up from 12 cents to $1.80
That means that the tax we pay on the 24 pack that we get at Costco will go up to $7.20. Add in the “CRV” tax and you’re going to be paying over $8.00 PLUS the cost of the beer.
How about keg beer? Buying in quantity, right? WRONG.
A keg of beer that is currently taxed at $6.40 will go up to $89.00. Now that’s outrageous!
So much for the party that claims to be in touch with the “common man”. Then again, one of the dem candidates (the empty suit) let his facade slip and told fundraiser attendees in San Francisco how he really felt about the “working class“, reinforcing the truth about the left wing liberal elite. And I’d bet a bottle of Anchor that a lot of these “working class” in California (as well as many others) drink beer! The funny thing is that a lot of the major domestic beers are made by union labor. So in theory, higher tax = lower sales = lost jobs.
Lea Suzuki from the Chronicle filmed our Super Tuesday election-night party at The Bus Stop and put together a nice little video. Click here to check it out!
If you want to volunteer for a very good cause this weekend - helping to send Greg Conlon to Congress - contact Chris Bowman, at (415) 921-4844 (after 11am). The special election is this Tuesday - April 8th!
